ATHLETIC PHILOSOPHY
Marywood-Palm Valley School is a college preparatory school, where the development of solid academic skills and excellent work habits take front stage in the high school middle and high school experience. Yet, our mission is to help students develop a balanced life and to that end we have very active arts and athletics programs.

Athletic Philosophy

Middle School Sports

As a small school, we value participation and commitment in our athletic program. The middle school has a no-cut policy of athletic involvement and every effort is made to provide all students who commit to regular practice an equal opportunity to participate in games. However, in the spirit of team comraderie and fair play, those who cannot commit to consistently attending practices and working hard cannot expect the same playing time as those who do.

Middle School students compete against other private schools in the Coachella valley in sports that include cross-country running, flag football, girls' volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, golf and tennis.

High School Sports

The high school philosophy is an extension of the middle school program. Students who commit themselves to the discipline of regular practice will not be cut from a team, although the competitive nature of high school sports cannot ensure equal playing time.

The high school athletes compete in the Majestic League under California Scholarship Federation rules which allow teams to advance to state championships. Current teams include 8-man football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, baseball and softball. Individual athletes also compete in golf and track and field.
