(Limited Need-Based Financial Assistance is Available)

The Marywood-Palm Valley School seeks to attract well-qualified students and supportive families, through need-based financial assistance. It is the earnest desire of the Board of Trustees that no child whose parents are in sympathy with the aims of the school, and who is well qualified for admission, should be denied the opportunity of enrollment solely because of the inability to pay full tuition fees.

Recommendations for financial assistance take into account each applicant’s record of scholastic achievement; his or her character and ability to contribute to, and benefit from the school’s program; the family’s need; and the funds available. To assist the Financial Assistance Committee, families applying for tuition assistance are asked to complete a confidential statement of their financial circumstances, and to submit it, along with a copy of their most recent Federal income-tax return. They may be required to furnish additional information, especially in case of appeal. Inquiries concerning the Tuition Assistance Program and requests of application forms should be addressed to the Head of School, or the Business Manager.

Financial assistance may be granted upon fulfillment of these requirements:

The student of a family applying for tuition assistance must exhibit special characteristics, indicating that he/she will be enriched by the education that the school has to offer.

The student’s family must exhibit true financial need. Parents are expected to make some financial sacrifice and commitment to the school.

The family must contact and meet with the Head of School.

Completion of the Private School Aid Service’s Student Aid Form is essential. As part of this process, parents are required to complete financial statements and provide a copy of their previous year’s W-2 Form and their Federal Income Tax Return.

Although tuition assistance is given on a year-to-year basis, it is subject to cancellation at the end of any quarter for any reason.

Family confidentiality must be maintained.
